World’s first IFC—EDGE, 3GV life sciences facility opens in Genome Valley

Owned by Rx Propellant, 3GV is a multi-tenant facility with an investment of Rs 105 crore, hosting over 1,000 people across its 150,000 square feet of sustainable infrastructure

Telangana’s IT & Industries Minister, D Sridhar Babu, inaugurated 3GV, the world’s first IFC—EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) Advanced Certified life sciences facility, located in Genome Valley, Hyderabad.

Owned by Rx Propellant, 3GV is a multi-tenant facility with an investment of Rs 105 crore, hosting over 1,000 people across its 150,000 square feet of sustainable infrastructure. The facility emphasises environmental responsibility, with advanced lab spaces designed for companies of all sizes.

Minister Sridhar Babu also visited Synopolis to participate in the Vision Forum, part of the Genome Valley Connect 2024 event, where he engaged with 50-60 key industry leaders. Together, they discussed innovation and opportunities to shape the future of Genome Valley. During the event, the minister launched the blueprint and logo for the Hyderabad International Lifesciences Square (HILS), a 300-acre international life sciences corridor in Genome Valley Phase 2. HILS is poised to foster cutting-edge facilities and global collaborations, further establishing Hyderabad as a key player in the global life sciences sector.

Babu said, “Genome Valley is lighting the way for our ambitions, with Hyderabad International Lifesciences Square (HILS) ushering in a new era for the life sciences ecosystem. It will be a launchpad for international giants, driving innovation and collaboration. These state-of-the-art facilities are not just about building infrastructure; they are about creating a future where Telangana leads the way in life sciences and draws new investments from renowned international companies.”

At the inauguration of 3GV, Milind Ravi, CEO, Rx Propellant, highlighted the facility’s green credentials: “We are proud to announce the inauguration of 3GV, our flagship life sciences facility in Genome Valley, Hyderabad. Achieving the world’s first IFC-EDGE Advanced certification for a speculative life sciences building reflects our focus on sustainability and innovation. With 41 per cent less energy consumption, 87 per cent reduced water usage, and a 25 per cent decrease in embodied carbon compared to conventional buildings, 3GV sets a new standard for environmentally responsible infrastructure.”

Vishal Goel, MD, Rx Propellant, discussed the company’s role in the Hyderabad International Lifesciences Square (HILS), noting that “through HILS, we reaffirm our commitment to providing well-equipped spaces for scientific communities and fostering a collaborative ecosystem for innovation. Our goal is to create environments that advance life sciences research and development, contributing to groundbreaking advancements on a global scale.”
