IPA re-elects elects Dr T V Narayana as national president for two more years
Mumbai : The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), headquartered in Mumbai, has unanimously re-elected Dr T V Narayana as the national president of the association for another one more term. The central executive committee has accepted and agreed upon a recommendation by the election returning officer of the IPA to allow other office-bearers to continue till 2022.
“The returning officer of IPA elections, PD Sheth, has recommended to the central executive committee (CEC) to continue with the present team of office-bearers for one more term due to COVID pandemic and the CEC unanimously accepted the recommendation,” added Dr Narayana .
However, elections were held for three vice-president posts. The election process continued for one month and the names of office-bearers were announced on July 12. Dr Narayana stated that his his main focus as the national president for the second term is to establish the absolute ownership of the acronym, IPA, which is now used by some other pharmacist group in Delhi. Another focus will be the completion of the IPA’s three-storey building in Mumbai.
Apart from Dr Narayana, the newly elected members are Suresh Khanna, national secretary, Dr Hemanth Mondkar, treasurer, J Jayaseelan, vice president & chairman of industrial pharmacy division, Dr. S.Vidyadhara, vice president & chairman of pharmacy education division, Manjari Gharat, vice president & chairman of community pharmacy division, Dr Subhash Mandal, vice president & chairman of regulatory pharmacy division and Dr R N Gupta, vice president & chairman of hospital pharmacy division.
Dr Alka Mukne has been assigned with the job of Editor for Pharma Times and Dr Divakar Goli, Editor for IJPS. IPA brings out two publications every month. Dr Pragna Ella has been allowed to continue as president of the IPA-Students Forum.
