Aster DM Healthcare welcomes govt’s move on national roll out of ABDM

The Union Cabinet has approved the national roll-out of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with a budget of Rs 1,600 crores for five years

The Post Budget webinar of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was inaugurated recently by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Along with that, the Union Cabinet approved the national roll-out of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with a budget of Rs 1,600 crores for five years.

Dr Azad Moopen, Founder CMD, Aster DM Healthcare said, “I would like to commend the efforts of the PM for a carefully considered budget for Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. It is heartening to see the augmentations towards education and human resources which will certainly enable the up-skilling of existing manpower as well as address the shortage of skilled manpower in the healthcare ecosystem – we have already been at the forefront of addressing this through one medical college, two nursing colleges and one pharmacy college. Also, the budgetary allocation to further propel digital healthcare through the nationwide roll-out of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission of Rs 1,600 crore for the next five years is a step towards improving the access to quality and affordable healthcare in rural and remote areas and is a boost to the healthcare sector.”
