Dr Shravan Subramanyam is the new President & CEO of GE Healthcare India & South Asia

From Diagnostic to Imaging

Bangalore: Medical technologies and services giant Wipro GE Healthcare said that Dr Shravan Subramanyam is its new President & CEO, GE Healthcare India & South Asia and Managing Director, Wipro GE Healthcare. He succeeds Nalinikanth (Nal) Gollagunta who will be taking up a new role as the Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the GE Healthcare Digital organization post transition.

GE holds 51 per cent stake in Wipro GE Healthcare, while the balance is with Wipro. Wipro GE Healthcare, a distributor of 85 per cent of GE’s various healthcare and medical diagnostic products in India, was merged with GE Healthcare in 2009.

Earlier, Dr Subramanyam was with Roche Diagnostics where he was the Managing Director, India and neighbouring markets, responsible for commercial operations, market access, customer experience and digital transformation efforts.

In his current role Dr Subramanyam will be responsible for building on Wipro GE’s expansion plans, delivering on commercial outcomes, strategic growth objectives, and driving partnerships in the region. He will continue to advance the company’s agenda of innovating disruptive technology and business solutions to enhance access to high-quality, affordable healthcare solutions.

Dr Shravan Subramanyam has over 15 years of senior management and leadership experience in global and regional leadership roles at Roche, Novartis, Dade Behring and Ehrlich Laboratories. An active voice in various Industry forums, he holds a MBBS degree from Madras Medical College and a Masters in Health Administration from Cornell University, US.

GE Healthcare has not had a new product released in India lately, and has faced new competitions in a number of segments. Even as other MNCs like Philips and Siemens have been investing in India and launched newer products to gain market share in the fastest growing market segment in diagnostic imaging.
