Farhan Pettiwala till recently President, Enactus India (legally registered as SIFE INDIA) has joined Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital (AJEH) as Executive Director and Head Development – India & South Asia.
Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital is headquartered in Mastichak, Bihar, and is engaged in eliminating blindness in low-income areas of the country, catering to blindness in parts of Bihar and Eastern UP. It is already the fifth largest eye hospital in India and has an immense opportunity to play a major role in this area. Blindness is closely associated with low-income levels and it strongly believes that eliminating blindness will greatly improve the gap in low-income areas. It is also engaged in educating, skilling and giving employment to young girls from financially disadvantaged families in rural areas. Akhand Jyoti Hospital is a charity organization and conducts 80% of the 70,000 operations free of cost every year.
Farhan has had a distinguished 25-year long career as a serial entrepreneur, a senior corporate executive with multinational corporations in India/Australia/UAE/Singapore and has been engaged in running a social organization. A gold medallist engineer, Farhan has done the executive program from Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad and an Advanced Management Programme from Harvard Business School, USA.
