NTPC partners with Apollo Hospitals

IMT News Desk
To introduce tele-emergency and tele-ICU services across its nine plant locations NTPC has forged a significant partnership with Apollo Hospitals, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to the health and well-being of its workforce. In a remarkable leap forward towards enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality for its employees and their dependents, NTPC has introduced ground-breaking services such as Tele-Consultation, Tele-ICU, and Tele-Emergency, spanning across nine NTPC plant locations in India.  These plant locations include Ramagundam, Talcher Kaniha, Korba, Vindhyachal, Dadri, Barh, Solapur, North Karanpura and Mauda. This occasion was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC, Dillip Kumar Patel, Director (HR), NTPC, Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited, among other distinguished officials from both organisations. NTPC has been a frontrunner in the adoption of new technology and innovative practices for the advancement of its core businesses as well as for the well-being of its employees, including their healthcare needs. This commitment towards constantly evolving and refining the usage of newer, more advanced technology models has made NTPC one of the most tech-forward Public Sector Enterprises in India. The tele-emergency service is designed to offer rapid virtual access to Apollo Hospitals' seasoned medical professionals during emergencies. This critical intervention bridges the gap between the onset of a medical crisis and the arrival of specialised care, ensuring timely medical guidance and support. From minor incidents to critical emergencies such as strokes, industrial accidents, heart attacks, and other life-threatening situations, the Tele-Emergency service aims to enhance the safety and well-being of NTPC employees. Moreover, the tele-ICU service extends continuous monitoring and care to patients in intensive care units across NTPC plants. Apollo Hospitals' experienced team of doctors will remotely manage critical patients, ensuring timely intervention and comprehensive care through advanced technology. These collaborative services, while augmenting the medical landscape at NTPC plants, work in tandem with the expertise of the existing doctors. By combining the proficiency of NTPC's onsite medical teams with Apollo Hospitals' virtual medical interventions, NTPC is setting a new benchmark in employee healthcare. Doctors at NTPC plant hospitals will benefit from the invaluable support of Apollo's specialists, enriching their expertise and enabling them to deliver even more comprehensive care to employees of NTPC. This collaboration between NTPC and Apollo Hospitals signifies a joint endeavour to redefine the standards of healthcare delivery. As part of this partnership, Apollo Hospitals will also provide virtual access to doctors from more than 20 specialities through their telemedicine network, not only benefiting NTPC employees but also their families. This strategic move is expected to create a transformative shift in healthcare accessibility and pave the way for a healthier and safer future. This partnership aligns seamlessly with NTPC’s mission to provide reliable and affordable power while ensuring the health and safety of its workforce.
