Requests a slew of measures for the hospital sector Dr Prasanna HM has taken charge as the President of Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA). Chief Guest Jawaid Akhtar, Principal Secretary to Government of Karnataka, Department of family and welfare, Dr R Ravindra, Past President, along with Dr Prasanna, office bearers, guests and dignitaries were present on the occasion. While addressing the august gathering and media, incoming President Dr Prasanna requested the government to release the payments to hospitals for treating COVID patients.” He further requested the government for SME stimulus to help struggling hospitals, besides ensuring the release of GOI insurance to family of COVID warriors in the private sector who lost their lives. Dr R Ravindra, the outgoing president requested the government for a single window clearance for healthcare sector, to wave off trade licenses for healthcare besides setting up of fire NOC for all hospitals below 22 metres. Akhtar said, “I will explore the act to remove trade licenses for hospitals and single window for all licenses will be initiated. I will talk to home ministry to increase the height of buildings to 22 metres from present 15 metres, so that fire NOC becomes easier.” He also said that training programmes and CMEs will help achieve standard care across all PHANA hospitals. The other new office bearers for 2020 – 2022 are Dr Govindaiah Yatheesh, the president elect, Dr Shobha Prakash, the Vice President, Dr Rajashekar YL, the secretary, Dr GV Divakar, the Joint Secretary and Dr ML Giridhar, the treasurer.
