Union Ayush Minister inaugurates new office building of CCRS

New OPD block of Ayothidoss Pandithar Hospital Extension and the OPD Block of the National Institute of Siddha were also unveiled

The newly constructed office building of the Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) was recently inaugurated along with the new OPD block of Ayothidoss Pandithar Hospital Extension and the OPD Block of the National Institute of Siddha.

The CCRS office building has been constructed for Rs 13 crores at Tambaram Sanatorium, Chennai. The Ayothidoss Pandithar Hospital New Extension OPD block has been constructed for Rs 35 crores to cater to the needs of the general public. Both the projects were approved by the Ministry of Ayush and the foundation stone was laid down by Shripad Yesso Naik, former Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush in May 2018.

Both the newly constructed buildings were inaugurated by Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister, Ministry of Ayush and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India, with the esteemed presence of Subramanian, Minister for Medical & Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu. The felicitation address was delivered by Dr P Senthil Kumar, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu and S Ganesh, Commissioner, Directorate of Indian Medicine & Homeopathy, Government of Tamil Nadu.

The presidential address was delivered by Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

Sonowal dedicated the new buildings to the people of India on the occasion of the 75th year of Independence. The Union Minister also released the achievements of CCRS and distributed the Amukkara Chooranam tablet under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahautsav programme and initiated the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign. The bioinformatics section which was established at the cost of Rs 30 lakh under the champion sector scheme was dedicated to the nation.
