Bihar CM inaugurates Bal Hriday Yojana

21 children with heart ailments sent to Ahmedabad to receive treatment

Bal Hriday Yojana (BHY) was inaugurated by Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister, Bihar, under which the state government will treat children with heart ailments at its own expense. In the first phase of the scheme, 21 children with an atrial septal defect (hole in the heart) were sent to Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The Chief Minister in this regard flagged off a bus with children to Patna airport from where they will fly to Ahmedabad along with their parents.

The children will receive additional specialised medical treatment at the Ahmedabad-based hospital run by the Prashanti Medical Services and Research Foundation with which the state government has an agreement.
