Change of Leadership at Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd

Dr. Emmanuel Rupert and Viren Shetty to lead the Company

Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, VC, MD and Group CEO of Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd (NH), has tendered his resignation from the services of the company. Dr. Raghuvanshi has decided to move on from NH on personal grounds, after serving the company for 18 years. Dr. Raghuvanshi’s resignation has been deliberated by the Board of NH and stands accepted. Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairman of the Board, thanked Dr. Raghuvanshi for his long-standing association with the NH family and wished him all the very best for his future endeavours.

Founded in 2000 by Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty and headquartered in Bengaluru, Narayana Hrudayalaya Limited is one of the leading healthcare service providers in India, operating a chain of multispecialty, tertiary and primary healthcare facilities. The Company has a network of 23 hospitals and 7 heart centres across India and single hospital overseas at Cayman Islands with over 6,200 operational beds across all its centres and potential to reach a capacity of over 7,100 beds.

The Board of NH further announced new appointments of Dr Emmanuel Rupert and Viren Shetty. Dr. Emmanuel Rupert has been appointed MD & Group CEO, to take over from Dr. Raghuvanshi. Dr. Rupert has been associated with NH since 2000 and has been part of the founding team at NH. He started his career with NH as Sr. Consultant in Cardiac Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care in the year 2000. Dr. Rupert has served as the Group Director – Medical Services since August 2018. Dr. Rupert’s appointment will be formalised immediately following the relieving of Dr. Raghuvanshi from the services of the company.

Viren Shetty has been appointed Group COO of the company. Mr. Viren Shetty, an MBA from Stanford Business School, has been on the Board of the company in the capacity of an Executive Director, and has been Sr. VP – Strategy since 2012.
