Cytecare Hospitals launches institute for dialysis, renal diseases

Cytecare aims to advance its mission to provide holistic healthcare solutions

Cytecare Hospitals in collaboration with Humanist Centre for Medicine (Humanist), (a Bengaluru-based NGO, that aims to bridge funding gaps for patients seeking medical treatment), has launched a state-of-the-art nephrology institute to provide essential medical care and holistic treatment to individuals suffering from kidney failure or dysfunction.

The institute was inaugurated by principal donor Dr AS Arvind along with other key donors including Shalini and Sudhir Sethi, Naheed and Arif Vazirally, DN Prahlad and Siva and Royan Foundation. The event was graced by Shalini Sethi – Director, Humanist Centre for Medicine, Dr Ferzaan Engineer – Co-Founder and Chairman, Cytecare Hospitals; Suresh Ramu, Co-founder and CEO, Cytecare Hospitals and Dr Girish NS – Senior Consultant Nephrologist.

The institute’s primary purpose is to provide life-sustaining dialysis treatment, enhance patients’ quality of life, and help manage the complications associated with kidney failure, including critical care support. The team comprises highly skilled clinicians who will extend their expertise beyond outpatient consultations to provide comprehensive care for kidney-related ailments. Alongside clinical services, the Institute is equipped with state-of-the-art dialysis machines, reaffirming the hospital’s dedication to offering a wide spectrum of high-quality medical services under one roof.

Speaking at the launch of the Humanist-Cytecare Institute, Ramu said, “We are glad to partner with Humanist for this important public health initiative. While Cytecare has provided the space as well as clinical and management support for the institute, Humanist, along with its donors, has put in the capital for the procurement of the dialysis machines and the Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant required for the centre. The Humanist-Cytecare Institute will offer a range of services aimed at providing comprehensive care and treatment for individuals with kidney failure or severe kidney dysfunction. These services are designed to address the medical needs of the patients as well as their overall well-being.”

A notable highlight of this launch is the profound generosity of Dr AS Arvind, the principal donor and a kidney transplant recipient himself, whose journey has spurred him to champion the cause of top-notch Nephrological care. His philanthropic contribution has been pivotal in the establishment of this advanced dialysis institute. “I understand first-hand the significance of superior treatment for kidney ailments. It’s my privilege to support this initiative and enhance the quality of life for those in need,” remarked Dr Arvind.

As a part of this initiative, Humanist is helping Cytecare in community engagement to raise awareness about kidney diseases, dialysis and also, in organising health camps, educational seminars and outreach programs.

Speaking about the launch of the Institute, Shalini Sethi – Director, Humanist Centre for Medicine, said, “What sets Cytecare’s Nephrology Institute apart is its dual commitment to medical excellence and social responsibility. The dialysis services offered are not only of the highest standards but are also accessible at reasonable costs. We believe in equitable healthcare access, and for those who are underprivileged, our CSR organisation, Humanist, will step in to support the operational costs of the Institute.”

“With the launch of our Nephrology Institute, Cytecare is advancing its mission to provide holistic healthcare solutions. We are grateful to our donors whose support has enabled us to broaden our impact and serve the community comprehensively. We can offer Advanced Dialysis including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy,” said Dr Girish.

Cytecare Hospitals remains committed to pushing the boundaries of medical care and embracing innovation that enhances the lives of patients. The launch of the Nephrology Institute stands as a testament to this commitment, offering renewed hope and healing to patients in need.
