Columbia Asia Radiology Group in association with Indian Society of Paediatric Radiology (ISPR) organised the “8th National Midterm CME-ISPR 2017” on June 25 at Columbia Asia Hospital, Whitefield. The event focused on talks and discussions themed around ‘Paediatric Neuroradiology’.

The conference was planned focusing on radiologists and was aimed to demonstrate relevant key anatomy, concepts in embryology, unique imaging challenges with solutions to handle and easy systematic approaches.

“We are happy and honored to host this prestigious event. There were a series of engaging and brain storming sessions, discussions, knowledge sharing and knowledge enhancement on Paediatric Neuroradiology,” said Dr. Nandakumar Jairam, Chairman, CEO and Group Medical Director, Columbia Asia Hospitals, India.

“The event aimed at providing delegates a platform to gain knowledge and interact with the top specialists in this niche area of radiology. There were interactive sessions oriented towards enriching knowledge of radiologists, particularly in the field of Paediatric Neuroradiology, which is considered a difficult speciality,” said Dr. Harsha Chadaga, Organizing Chairman ISPR, HOD, Columbia Asia Radiology Group.

“Through this event, we aimed at creating awareness about the rapidly changing science and more efficient diagnostic algorithms in neuroscience among the healthcare providers, clinicians and radiologists,” said Dr Jayaraj Govindaraj, National President, Indian Society of Paediatric Radiology.nference. Being actively involved in research, I have special interest in Paediatric Stroke, Neonatal Imaging, Paediatric Demyelination and Quality Assurance in Radiology. It was a privilege to share my clinical and research knowledge in this

“It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of this esteemed co field with the delegates,” said Dr. Manohar Shroff – MD, DABR, FRCPC, Radiologist-in-chief Diagnostic Imaging, The Hospital of Sick Children, Toronto, who will be a part of this event.

Dr. Manohar Shroff who is a prominent figure in the field of paediatric radiology, presided the lecture on ‘Paediatric Stroke Imaging’ over telepresence. He has approximately 160 published papers and abstracts (Web of Science) to his credit, of which over 100 are peer reviewed PubMed publications. Eminent Paediatric Neurologist including Dr. Vykunta Raju K. N, Associate Prof – Pediatric Neurology, Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health and Dr. Ann Agnes Mathew, Consultant – Paediatric Neurology, Rainbow Children’s Hospital were a part of the event.

Among other noted radiologists, Dr Amarnath C, Professor and HOD, Radiodiagnosis, Stanley Medical College, Chennai; Dr Sunithi Elizabeth Mani, Professor, Department of Radiodiagnosis, Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore; Dr Asha Thomas, Consultant, Radiology, Bangalore Baptist Hospital; Dr.Anisha S Tandon, Consultant Radiologist and Specialist Radiologist, Sakra World Hospital, Bangalore; Dr. Ashish Atre, Chief Radiologist,Star Imaging & Research Centre, Pune; Dr. Sridhar Gibikote, Prof. Department of Radiologists, Christian Medical College Hospital, Vellore; Dr. Navdeep Walia, Senior Consultant and Lead Radiologist – Paediatric, Columbia Asia Radiology Group, Patiala; Dr. Namita Consultant Radiologist, Columbia Asia Radiology Group, Bangalore and Dr. Sriram Patwari, Consultant Radiologist – Neuro Radiology, Columbia Asia Radiology Group, Bangalore were present at the event.

The Columbia Asia radiology group was found in 2009 to offer tele-radiology services to both Columbia Asia and non-Columbia Asia hospitals.  The teleradiology network leverages radiology resources across all the Columbia Asia locations helping cross usage of expertise and optimization of resources across different geographies. This network, in addition to providing services to our own hospitals, serves approximately 100 clients in India, Indonesia, Bahrain, Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, Iraq, Saudi Arabia,Europe and Myanmar. The radiology group apart from radiology reporting, also provides radiology training, peer review, quality assurance services and accreditation consultancy. The group also helps other hospital groups in establishing radiology networks by knowledge transfer and consultancy services.
