Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals will invest over Rs 300 crore in Maharashtra in the next 18-24 months to set up 20 eye care facilities across Mumbai and the rest of the state
Mumbai-based Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital has merged with Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, becoming the 100th centre of the eye hospital chain. Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital is a four-storey hospital in Wadala in the heart of Mumbai. Prof Dr S Natarajan, a third-generation ophthalmologist, will be the Chief of Vitreo Retina services of Dr Agarwals Group of Eye Hospitals.
Talking about the development, Dr Amar Agarwal, Chairman, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals, said, “We are delighted that Aditya Jyot eye Hospital, which is counted as among Mumbai’s top eyecare facilities, is now a part of Dr Agarwals Eye Hospitals. This is a very significant milestone for us as we have hit a century with this merger. Aditya Jyot Hospital becoming a part of our chain has taken our total tally of eyecare facilities across India and abroad to 100.”
“The merger of Aditya Jyot Hospital with our chain is only a start for Maharashtra. We plan to invest over Rs 300 crores in Maharashtra to set up 20 eye hospitals across the state and over 100 outreach clinics in the next 3 years. We have a Rs 1,000 crore expansion plan to increase our footprint pan-India to 200 hospitals in the next three years, along with 500 outreach centres.” he added.
