Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute trains 35 doctors at 47th Allergy Workshop

The workshop featured lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions by experts from VPCI and other institutes

The 47th Allergy Workshop, organised by Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute (VPCI), a postgraduate medical institute for chest diseases concluded recently. The five-day workshop trained 35 doctors from different states of India on various aspects of respiratory allergy, such as its causes, symptoms, tests, and treatments.

Professor Rajkumar, Director, VPCI, who has conducted much research on respiratory allergies, said, “There is a great need for awareness regarding respiratory allergies, as about 40 per cent of the population in the country is suffering from some allergy or the other. So far, more than 5000 doctors have been trained in this regard. Our institute has been working on respiratory allergies since the beginning.”

The workshop featured lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions by experts from VPCI and other institutes. Some of the speakers were Dr D Behera, Dr AB Singh, Dr MK Aggarwal, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr Achal Gulati, Dr Anant Mohan, Dr Roopak Singla, Dr Amitesh Gupta, Dr Girish Patwardhan, Dr Ashok Shah, Dr Naveen Arora, Dr Mahesh Goyal, Dr BK Menon, Professor Dr Virendra Singh, Dr VK Jain, Dr Nitin Gupta, Dr Sonam Spalgis, Dr Parul Mrippuri, Dr Siddharth Raj Yadav, Dr Manoj Kumar and Dr Vidushi Rathi.

The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the doctors in dealing with respiratory allergy cases and to promote the best practices in the field.
